Sleeping with Open Eyes

Just saw a footage of pyres

Throbbing voices of loved ones breaking

Smokey flames turning the cities black

As the mourning hearts are bleeding.

My eyes are filled with tears

And I reckon if it doesn’t affect the ones with top gears.

I lay awake at night because my home's burning too

And my hope’s dangling too.

With a shield of mask not only we hide our wounds

But the fears too.

The people are terrified and so am I

Scared circles of broken souls still pass by.

We never signed up for this battle

Yet we are facing one.

Whole systems are collapsing

With tired shrieks among.

Not seeking dissent for the horrors of structures upright

Just some peace for when I stay up at night.

  1. "Darkness, the truest darkness, isn't the absence of light. It's the conviction that light will never return" - Lois Lane
Let there be light. Hold that flickering candle up against the wind, or be the mirror that reflects it. Hang in there mate.

  4. There's one person who has a little too much to say and the other one is tired of being on the receiving end of it. So the other one created this space and looks after the technical stuff while the smart alec writes.

  5. You brought back my worst memory, the memory i try everytime to lock it up in the deepest and the darkest part in my brain. I still hear the shrieks with pain. I can still feel the warmth of the burning pyre. Worst day of my life. I don't know how to put this in words but Tapsi it's like you wrote what i was feeling and experiencing and also know that i feel you, i feel the every sentence that you wrote.
