Bored: Aren't we all?
I’ve fallen into the issue haze, where the snags become so appealing that you’re always, not on the look out, but looking forward to being hit by the bumps. The self-designated troubleshooters are the ones with premature smugness and enthusiastic attitude to be the Fix-it of a perceived, “real” problematic situation. There’s no fault of their own, as who doesn’t like bagging the souvenirs of the battles they’ve won since non-existent battles don’t last but the victories do.
While the world is eagerly anticipating “the perfect…!” there they lurk behind in the crowd hoping the exclamation point to metamorphose, as for all the rage is in the question mark. As a new entrant to this community, I couldn’t help but wonder, are we really that bored? Is there no other kind of caulk to ensure that we have an all-season dullness seal?
And then seeps in pity: self-pity. Does the looming community of budding restless trouble-makers-shooters encompass only me? There it is, my question mark staring me right in the face. Am I the cautionary tale of boredom make-believe?
